Hey Spielgscheit, yes, i think your vivid imagination of RIO is wrong ;) I play PLO25 on stars and PLO20 on RIO and that are my experiences so far:
- Rakeback at RIO is a lot more (like Ernestas said)
- It's more fun to play with the RIO software
- On average the RIO players are slightly better opponents (reason: on stars are more huge whales than on RIO)
- On stars i focus a lot on beating the huge whales (HUD is very important for ZOOM imo), on RIO i can focus more on learning the game and implement the strategies that we learn here on RIO.
- Overall i'm winning a bit more on stars (up to now, i hope that will change if i get used to the pool), but i learn a lot more playing on RIO and it makes way more fun.

I think you should try RIO and make your own experiences. If you don't use a HUD on stars, RIO might be a lot better for you since HUDs are not allowed. And even if you then still think the games are a lot tougher (which i don't think; they are a little bit tougher but rakeback is better) there might be something positive: You can learn to play against better opponents on average for a cheap price and use that experience on other sites on higher stakes. And isn't it a better feeling to pay the rake to RIO with owner Phil Galfond than to greedy Poker stars? ;)
