I offered to coach o8 for them a few years ago, I doubt you'll get any decent o8 content because they don't think the game is popular enough. But it works for me I guess, lets me keep grinding steady profit against mostly soft opponents :)

Call flop, pot the turn, pot the river.  Even if he has the dreaded a2 spades, you still have quite a few outs for his low to be blocked.  And pretty much any other hand you force him to fold at some point.  You really don't want a showdown with this hand, but you can't fold or show any kind of weakness with smaller goofy bets.  Calling his flop bet instead of re-raising shows good pot control in this situation.

Edges are better in pl/nlo8 sng/mtt, limit o8 is seen as pretty degen even by its own players...split-pot rake is evil for obvious reasons.

But with that said, most of your focus should be on the board out of the factors you listed.  Predicting range will screw you up many times with 4 cards and a split-pot, unless you know your opponent very well...and even then I have a hard time trusting this factor because good players will "bait" you after you see certain hands/showdowns of theirs and switch their range up...or just switch it up because of others at the table also.  In short, a bit too unpredictable.  If you start playing too standard or predictably...you're going to get abused.

What you're looking for are scare cards - paired board on turn with little/no lo possibility is a really common example.  A few good players will also try the same, so it becomes a kind of game of chicken with the most aggressive person winning it.

For lower flops it's all about getting that nut lo locked with a good draw for hi, by way of flush/straight draw or even a pair works.  But in limit ring games, it's a bit safer to play low less aggressively.

There's a lot more, these are just a few things to answer most of your questions hopefully and to help others also.  Nobody is anywhere near optimal at o8 or "solved" anything yet lol, but I guess it's a good thing.  There are a few advanced theories that are looking really promising so far though, for all variants of o8 but mostly pl/nl.

I'd post some plo8 mtt/sng vids from the highest stakes with leading-edge strategies for you guys, already contacted some coaching groups about it.  Or write some guides, but I warn you that you won't fully learn the game without a lot of practice of your own and just spending some time learning the different styles and also when to use them at the appropriate times.
