$5/$10 with $25 btn straddles

Villain is competent, big winner, hand reads well, always buys in deep to cover and probably views me as solid/TAG. We haven't really played too many big pots together, I normally stay out of his way.

$14k effective

Villain completes sb, I complete bb with KhKd7s4h, the hj and co limp, button checks.

Flop ($125): Kc 9s 7d

villain and hero check, hj bets $75, btn calls $75, villain c/r to $375, hero raises to $1250, villain calls.

Turn ($2775): 2d

Villain c/c $2800

River ($8400): 6s

Villain leads $6100... Hero?

Prefer c/c > b/c mainly for reasons stated above. We flop well with descent equity but not very good implied odds when c/r, which I think will happen descent amount with board hitting our opponents range more than ours.

Fold pre OOP with essentially <50bb effective. Hate potting flop into 4ppl your equity when called is not very good.

shove pre and crai as played.

Agree with everything Ben said. Also, why not play smaller when you've played <5k hands lifetime?

$5/$10 + mandatory $20 otb

Villain: 40yr old guy, has played poker his entire life but isn't pro. Made a ton of money in stocks/investments. Always wants to play big, can hand read fairly well, extremely loose pf, def capable of running big bluffs and will also get out of line sometimes with retarded bluffs. He's been drinking (which he never does) and is on a huge upswing in the game this month.

Folds to me in the CO I open AA83r, villains snap 3bets the btn to $170, I call.

Flop ($350): 554r

I chk, he snap pots, I call.

Turn ($1050): 2 (completes rainbow)

I chk, he snap pots, I call.

River ($3150): 2

I check, he snap pots. Hero?

Villain: Haven't played a ton of plo with him, although a descent amount of nl. Didn't even know he played plo until he FT'd a wsopc main and is now playing anything and everything. He knows im a winner in the games and probably views me as solid/tag. No specific reads, very loose pre, staked, and bought in for $5k, I cover.

sb completes for $20, bb raises to $80, I call with JJT7ds (clubs), villain calls, btn call.

Flop ($340): Js 6c 3c

bb checks, I bet $300, villain calls

Turn ($940): Td

I bet pot, he calls.

River ($2820): 8s

Hero?

Narrow your 3b range and do everything for value vs him.

Jan. 19, 2013 | 6:50 a.m.

I prefer flatting pf since we're IP and you have a hand that plays well if it goes multiway. I don't see any logic in building a huge pot with Q high vs an opponent that never folds to our 3bets and likes to call us down post flop.

Jan. 19, 2013 | 6:48 a.m.

I prefer a call otf and playing IP rather than raising.

My image is shot. People probably think i'm tilted (which im not) and my pfr is like 50% since we're 7handed, deep, and nobody is good. Villain in the hand is probably a shot taker. I'm out of town so no real reads but he buys in for $1k and plays very straight forward. I've been going really thin otr since most people are stationing vs me.

5/10 with 20 otb

bb completes, i open QThh to $80, villain calls on my direct left, 3 others calls.

Flop ($320): 789cc checks through.

Turn Jc, I bet $250, villain calls.

River 8s

Jan. 14, 2013 | 11:29 p.m.

Flop fold and river fold as played for same reasons stated above.

Thanks RunItTwice, agree that betting flop is probably best. However, depending on sizing/timing etc do you think c/raising is a viable option?

Jan. 13, 2013 | 10:57 a.m.

edit: i'm in the hj and villain otb

First off, im relatively new to plo, playing alot more lately as it has been my main focus over nl. No real reads on villain in the hand. I'm out of town, unsure if he is a reg, bought $10k in chips and took $5k off. He just lost a big pot where he c/r potted the flop with a wrap+nfd, gets it allin on the turn with nuts and loses. Overall playing relatively tight pf.

$5k effective

utg limps, guy raises to $100, I call with Ad 6c 5d 3s, villain calls, bb call, utg calls.

Flop ($500): 7c 4d 2c

Checks to me I bet $350, villain calls, everyone folds.

Turn: 2d

What are my best options ott and why?

Need to know any reads on villain and how he periceves you. Probably raising river small, $750/fold.

Agree with avoiding pots with him while taking shots, especially in a FR nlhe game.
