$2/$2 $600 max. No $5 bring in
local casino game usually plays fairly passive with lots of multi way and limped pots. New game only been running couple of months and usually quite a few players not sure what do. But today a player from another casino that plays bigger game is playing and is raising about 80% of hands.
The villain in this hand is a Regular player who thinks he’s all that and a stack of pancakes! He also likes to raise a lot of hands and tell people how great he is.
Hero in UTG +1 with $580 effective
Villain is B.B. with $700 effective
Aggro player from bigger game has over $1200
All others less than $400
The UTG has a $5 straddle on. Hero looks down to Ad Qd Jd 8s and limps in ……… considered raising but I know the guy that’s been raising all the time will probably repot and I kind of want to see a flop with this hand even though my position And hand aren’t great. But I know if I hit the flop hard I will make some money because the 2 players like to “gamble”.
MP player limps, the aggro player who has been raising all time does raise to $25.
BTN , SB, BB & straddle all call. And myself and other limper call.
7 to the flop
Pot - $175
Flop —- Kc Td 5h
SB checks
Villain bets pot
Straddle folds
What does hero do here? 13 outs to straight ,and also have a backdoor nut flush .
Do I call or jam? If I just call and it goes heads up pot will be $525 and I will only have $380 left.
Seen villain play big pairs with nothing else to go with them before like this. Also he could have middling cards & my straight will be better. Or cards similar to mine.
Not really worried about the aggro original raiser as he just likes to raise and make big pots.
What’s my play?
Thx for any insights

Hi everyone,
so.. its a $1-$2 game at casino with a $5 bring in ...full table , 9 handed with max buy in is $500 and i have been playing for about 4 hours and have a tight straight forward image (haven't had really that many good hands up to now) the Villan in this hand is a guy who has just came back to table after torching about $2000 an hour or so ago.. He would repot and call off with mid pairs and gut shots and no redraws. i.e.. he check raised repot on a T72rainbow board and he only had 6642 rainbow against a guys TT98 hand..
ok enough history...
I have about $900 and Villan has just reentered game and won the first couple hands and is up to about $850
UTG limps for $5, I am in CO with AQhearts JT off suit, i pot to $20 BTN calls and Villain in BB calls and UTG calls
Flop is T9 diamonds 4 spades ...
BB & UTG check..... I bet $60
BTN folds and the Villain in BB check raises pot to $245 ... UTG folds
so what do i Do? I have top pair and open ended but no Flush draw..
thx
PS. new to omaha .. played a little awhile ago but just came back to the game...
thanks for any insight...

Hi,
Question regarding proper table selection.
Playing 100NL, Mostly full ring but some 6max on Pokerstars
How do you chose which table you jump on?
Do you look at the amount of hands played / hour?
Do you look at Pot Average?
Do you look at %of players / flop?
and does all that info in the lobby really mean anything?
or do you just sit down at how ever many you want to play (be it 4 tables or 24 tables) and then go on a bunch of waiting list and if a table isn't for your liking you drop it and get a new one.
How do the successful grinders on here table select?
thanks for any info.

Saw they are doing a new $1000 PLO event this summer. Thinking of playing it but have a question about strategy.
You start out with 1000 chips and 2 markers for 1000 more each to use up to the 4th level. Would it be better to get all 3000 at start or just start with 1000 and see how this first few orbits go?
Is there a "proper" strategy to use? or is it always different depending on table dynamic?
Sure would be nice to if one of the Pro's here would do a video on PLO tournament strategy with the WSOP coming up.......
thanks for the help

Just curious if there is a "best time" to play?
I live on the westcoast of Canada, so wondering if from 9 AM to late afternoon would be best for me?
I know most players now on-line are from Europe so they will be 8 - 12 hours ahead, that would put them into their evenings playing and maybe more recreational players on-line at night playing after their work day.
Phil, I know you live here in Vancouver, like me, do you perfer a certain time of day? or does it not matter that much?
Thanks for the ifo

hi
Just watched the video where Phil reviews Jonna's 100PLO Zoom session.
My question is about which game to play and learn at.
At the start of the video Phil says ..... ".50 - $1 Zoom PLO is a excellent training ground"...
I was wondering what is type of game is recommend playing for a new player learning the game? I have been playing for about 3 months now, just 2 tabling the 6-max 25PLO & 50PLO games mostly but tried the Zoom format a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed it.
But for learning the game is it more beneficial to go slower and play the same players for a few hours at the 6-max ring games or is volume more important and by playing Zoom that would be better?
Is it better to play Zoom primarily or a combitiaton of Zoom and regular 6-max games, say 80% Zoom / 20% 6-max or vice versa, for the beginning player?? (Or any other combinaton..6max, full ring, or Zoom)
thanks,
Pepper

thx guys,
yes I know this isn't a good hand. In a normal 6 max game I wouldn't think of playing it but like i said in this Zoom game it seemed so many people play the flop ..." hit it and go or miss it and fold it", so i thought i would play around a little.
i was just curious as what to do after all the flop action. i thought a push was a must.
thx for all the help

Just to let you know I did raise to 13.50 and everyone folded.
I was worried of 2 pair and set hands so I wanted to protect and make them pay to get there but when everyone folded, I thought that maybe I should of just called .
Just don't want to play thinking the "sky is falling" all the time.
thx for all the help.

Hi, new here, just joined last week and have only been playing for a couple of weeks and have logged only about 1500 hands , so I am still just learning and a little confused as what to call 3 bets with.. thanks in advance
Should I have called this 3B?
After I did, should I have raised the CB or smooth called and then folded to the check raise as I only probably now have to outs...
hopefully I copied the hand correctly from PT4 and sorry if I didn't.
