Hello there. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. I have only been playing satties for a few months, so just looking to get better.

Stone bubble spot, 5th pays £200 and 1 to 4th is a an £1100 UKIPT seat.

Is calling here horrible?

I can see why it seems like big mistake because although if we bust him we qualify, we also almost certainly qualify if we fold.

I ended up calling because he had shoved a few times before and I expected him to probably raise/call with TT+ and open shove pairs below mine as well as hands we flip with, that said there are a lot more hands we flip with such as A9+ and broadways.

So I did feel at the time that it was a fairly large error.

He had AKs and we lose the flip, we still won the seat but I put myself under some unnecessary pressure.

Him open shoving makes a lot of sense with AKs because he doesn't want to induce re-shoves form hands that have good equity like PPs, QJs, JTs etc.

What range should we be calling here and how would that change based on the villain.

Against Vamplew here is there an argument that we should even fold KK-99 and just call AA?

In a spot where the extra chips don't have any real value and a hand like A5s has 33% equity against KK-99 which isn't great for us.

I didn't recognise any of the others but at least one was a recreational.

Against the other 3 players if they had the 16bb stack in the co I think I would have snapped TT+ vs an open shove because that spot(against more predictable players) people tend to raise/call all strong hands and just rip it in with all there weakfish to medium strength hands.

Is that a mistake also and should we just playing snug now we have a very significant stack size.

Thanks in advance.
