Can you get away from set over set?

Blinds: $0.01/$0.02 (6 Players) BN: $2.09 (Hero)
SB: $2.00
BB: $2.09
UTG: $2.00
MP: $2.85
CO: $2.60
6max Pokerstars 2NL Zoom. MP is 53/0 over 18 hands, limped and called raises with K5o and KJo
Preflop ($0.03) Hero is BN with 4 4
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, CO calls $0.02, Hero calls $0.02, SB folds, BB checks
Calling here for implied odds in multiway pot.
Flop ($0.09) 7 T 4
BB checks, MP bets $0.09, CO folds, Hero calls $0.09, BB folds
I call here, figuring he could have Tx, 98s, 76s, 56s
Turn ($0.27) 7 T 4 6
MP bets $0.26, Hero calls $0.26
I continue to call thinking that allowing aggression here is good. Looking at this now I see he could have made a straight here but I think its unlikely.
River ($0.79) 7 T 4 6 A
MP bets $0.76, Hero raises to $1.72 and is all in, MP calls $0.96
I'm thinking this is a good card for me, perhaps villain had AT and thinks he has improved. I go all in thinking I have the best hand.
Final Pot BN lost and shows three of a kind, Fours.
MP wins and shows three of a kind, Sevens.
MP wins $4.08
Rake is $0.15

Hello everyone. I'm pretty new but I'm working my way through content and The Grinders Manual. Focusing on 6max.

Most everything I've read says that set over set is generally a cooler, and difficult to get away from, except clearly connected/monotone boards.

I'm looking for advice for how I could of played this differently. Any help is appreciated.
