Cash Game Micros

I play mostly MTT's and I'm ITM 19% and have an ROI of over 70% in low stakes edging into mid stakes so not an absolute fish but I want to start playing more cash tables for the flexibility and hopefully lower variance. I'm struggling to break even even at $10-$20.

What I find is that I slowly start to build my stack but get wiped out and have to start over again. Very often it is cooler situations where I'm sure if I posted here would get the response "Yeah - you had a good hand, GII and lost. You didn't do anything wrong - that's poker".

So to avoid this do you just make exploitable folds when you really think you might have the best hand or avoid coin flips for stacks? Sry to over-simplify but this situation just keep repeating.....usually when I do double up it is a situation where I had the nuts and someone else had a very good second best hand so is the strategy to play small hands and build your stack gradually and just wait for set ups in your favour?
