Correct nitty check back?

BN: $500 (Hero)
SB: $593.89
BB: $531.15
UTG: $483.75
HJ: $537.70
CO: $556.96
Villian is a right reg.
I do have a read that he barrels off a lot in 3-bet pots.

Preflop ($7.50) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt J K
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO folds, Hero raises to $11.25, SB raises to $42.50, BB folds, Hero calls $31.25
Flop ($92.50) J K 6 (2 Players)
SB bets $50, Hero calls $50
Raising seems bad on a board that favours his range. I'm stacking AK anyway, so I'd rather let him barrel off with a low equity hands. Having the Jc is really nice.
Turn ($192.50) J K 6 4 (2 Players)
SB bets $110, Hero calls $110
Obviously calling again
River ($412.50) J K 6 4 A (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks
On this river I have AJ, flushes, 66, maybe QTcc and QcTx.
When he checks on a pretty good card for him, he can easily have picked up one pair and decided to show it down.

But when I have so many better hands than KJ here, is the hands low enough in my range to check back?
Final Pot
SB has A T Hero has J K Hero wins $407.20

25th time I've forgotten to edit out results, and I'm not going to try again.
