Hero minopens from BTN

Hero should defend 63% at least

The problem BB is 3betting 5% BB vs BTN open and Hero opens 55%. If Hero defends that wide he's going to be crushed on most flops. Should Hero defend anyway?
The question come up because I'm calling 20% vs 3bets and even I know it is nitty, I don't think calling wide much yield more profit. What's my leak in my thinking process?
