NL50 tough spot with bottom set

Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 (6 Players) BN: $50.00
SB: $50.00 (Hero)
BB: $105.29
UTG: $50.00
MP: $54.08
CO: $45.00
1232 hands on villain. Seems to be as standard reg as standard regs come. 23/18, AF 2/3/2

CB F/T/R in non3bp: 55/35/20, WTSD 33% (on a high side), WWSF 49, WSD 52(std).
Fold to F xR 2/4. Villain opens UTG a bit more than most (23%)
Preflop ($0.75) Hero is SB with 8 8
UTG raises to $1.50, 3 folds, Hero calls $1.25, BB folds
I think this should be ok, 77 is the weakest PP in my range though. BB is unknown
Flop ($3.50) 8 J T
Hero checks, UTG bets $2.45, Hero raises to $7.25, UTG calls $4.80
Yeah I have no idea. I realized straight away that this hand is going to be tough.
I get that whenever I get called, like half the turns suck and Im lost.
If I get 3b, I also hate my life (but probably sigh get it in, villain seems to be 3betting fair bit). However, I should have a lot of draws in my xR range too...

In retrospect it feels like not having a xR range here is the best option, since his range is also very strong, but I might be results oriented.
Or is the issue that 88 is too low in my otherwise very strong range, so should be xC, but TT, JJ, KQss, AKss, AQss should be xR?? What do you guys think?
Turn ($18.00) 8 J T 9
Hero checks, UTG bets $11.25, Hero calls $11.25
No idea if I can do anything else here. Would I play JJ the same way?
River ($40.50) 8 J T 9 6
Hero checks, UTG bets $30.00 and is all in, Hero folds

Discussion about how to properly play our ranges otf/ott is appreciated.
thanks
