Hi Team,
I was reviewing a hand today where I was facing a 100BB open Jam with AQs on the BU. My question is: what should our calling range be facing these open Jams? (assuming 100BB deep) I don't play that much Zoom and am not too familiar with the spot whether this is only ever AA or a spastic maniac. I would assume on average Villain's range is heavily weighted towards a range of QQ+ AK. We have 0 BB invested in the pot so what range do we expect to call with which is making money?
Our pot odds are 49.62% (100/(100+1+0.05)) so we need to call hands we expect to with basically 50% of the time. With AQs against a range of JJ+, AQo+, AQs+ we only have 36% so I think this is a clear fold.
Is calling with QQ+ and AK reasonable? Or do we need to go even tighter? KK+?
I have 22 hands on Villain with stats of: VPIP: 18, PFR, 9 and no other relevant info.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance!
