I keep folding sets when faced with action

I am starting to find a huge leak in my game, or maybe not. At the time I obviously feel like I am making hard but good folds but to see the results hurts because I am usually wrong. I am talking about live PLO only and 1/2/5 and 2/5 and 2/5/10 games where villians usually dont take the aggressive play that often.

I posted a hand here where I had 99xx and raised pre and got multi-way. The flop comes Q93 and it checks to me and I bet, short stack shoves, and villian pots it after checking. 2 thoughts for me were: Villian must have QQ at worse and I dont want to stack off vs a fish here or he has a super wrap hand. How/why would he check raise this flop? I remembered all the times I stacked off while learning with mid/bottom set and how much money I lost. I felt it was the right fold but he turned over Q3 and won after I folded. I tried to convince myself it was the right fold but it wasnt. I got mad at myself bc I never considered 33 in his range and if I did I would have called.

Yesterday, I am deep in a 1/2/5 game ($2,000 eff) and I raised in mp 6678 and it goes multi way... Flop comes 68K and Villian lead pots it for $90 and I tank fold>??>???> WHY? HOW? I thought that this villian must have me beat in this spot for him to come out betting. He cant have AA bc he reraises pre so he can have KK 88 (not likely) or 579x. Dont stack off in these spots! Horrible play on my part and I knew it during the fold but I did anyways. I figure that I can play way better plo in spots where I dont have to risk drawing dead or being behind.

I ran the numbers in both spots and I have to call. The 2nd spot is a must call bc even vs 579x I have 45% equity and am getting 66% to call. The 8 blocker helps and the 7 blocker as well.

Anyways, I am posting bc its a leak in my game bc I am obviously scared of drawing dead vs players where I cant get a positive grasp on why they are taking the lines they are. I give them too much credit for understanding the game and spots. I need to fix this.
