Where do I go to find out how many buy ins I should have for what I'm playing?

So I just deposited for the first time on Carbon for $20 and after a few days of playing $1/2 Sit N Go's I have busted my bank roll. In the summer I played on Lock and I took a $30 deposit up to about $120, but for some reason I can't seem to cash consistently in the Sit N Go's on Carbon.

My question is, what should I do differently? In a bit I'm hoping to play more MTT's but they don't really have many of those for the lower stakes so I want to build up my roll. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help.

I'm looking to get a book about poker for Christmas this year and I'm wondering what everyone thinks I should get. Strategy or history, whatever works. What are everyone's suggestions?

I'm an 18 year old senior in high school and I'm looking for a place to start in poker. I have played a bit online but with the place online poker is currently I'm not too confident with it. There is a casino about 15 minutes away from me that has daily tournaments but their structure is very luck based. They have a cash game as well but it is limit and the blinds are a bit high for my bank roll. Where do you guys suggest I start in my poker career?

Thanks for the advice! I'm just beginning playing live poker so I will continue to play in these for now and see if I can get any better. It is mostly regs and after two tournaments I already have reads on a lot of the people there. The problem I have is that even though I know most people there are very tight, it is hard to make any moves because the stack sizes are so low.

@fransisco I believe you have to upgrade your account.

But do you think playing them can earn a profit? I'm mostly playing them for the fun of it but is it a bad idea to play them money wise?

Lately I've been playing at a local casino that has pretty low stakes Sit 'N Go type tournaments every day at 5:30 and I'm wondering if it is smart to play them for profit. The stacks start at 5k with 12 minute blind changes with the blinds starting at 25/50. I've played in two and I won one while the other I didn't cash, and I'm wondering if you guys think it would be profitable to play these? The blinds get to the point near the end where it is pretty much all in or not and I feel like luck becomes too much a part of it. What does everyone think?
