I've been playing in live, private games for the past 8 months where there is an automatic straddle in the form of a "Rock" awarded to the winner of the pot that automatically goes out as a straddle the next hand from any position. E.g. if the button wins a hand, the straddle will go out the next hand when he's in the CO

I've been a little bit confused about RFI ranges
Do you adjust your preflop ranges to your position relative to the straddle or choose your ranges based on your natural absolute position.

There are normally anywhere from 3-4 whales at the table with very wide 3-bet ranges.

Consider a hand like 9JQK DS on the button, but first to act after the straddle.
Has anyone dealt with this?
