I don't have a standard tip amount, it varies based on how my experience was

Thanks for the feedback,, I for sure understand never flatting pre here. But what I've found is that in a live re-entry format tourney like this if I hit my set in a multi-way pot like this I will get paid off a HUGE percentage of the time. So I'm ok committing the 1500 knowing that I'm folding to any four bet as well as giving up post flop if I don't hit the set. This was at the Hustler Casino in LA, if you've played live poker in LA perhaps you will somewhat understand my thinking?

I should also point out that the villain is a player that I know who I would define as inexperienced but tries to play a lag style. He definitely views me as lag/capable of double barrel bluffing in this spot.

Post | Jaragorn posted in MTT: $270 live mtt flopped set

This hand happened somewhat early in the tournament, blinds at 100/200 w/25 ante
This is a new table with mostly late reg players so everyone has about 20k (starting stack)

Hero: 3h3d Pos: CO

Action: UTG +1 raises to 600
MP calls
MP2 raises to 1500
HJ calls
CO(hero) calls
UTG+1 calls
MP calls

Flop: 3s2s9h

Checks around to CO(hero), bets 3200
UTG+1 calls all other players fold

Turn: 3s2s9h8c

UTG+1 checks
CO(hero) bets 5800
UTG+1 calls

River:3s2s9h8c7d

UTG+1 goes all in for 10,200
Hero: calls

UTG+1: 10sJc for straight

I thought the only possible made hand that beat me here would be 10sJs but that the villain often has missed flush draws here or possibly two pair hands that I had to call. I have no clue how/why he called my flop bet in a multi-way, 3-bet pot w/J high. Bad river call on my part?

I'd check back the turn once you checked the flop but I think I am c betting this flop every time w/88. How do you benefit from checking, there are many turn cards that could be very bad for you, and also the villain might call the c bet with just A high or something, right? I would've called the river as well.
