My study was mainly about hand histories that I reviewed in the solver, and instructional videos that I watched about how to use solvers effectively. I didn't do enough drills last week due to sickness and festival from Friday to Sunday.

Last week sort of unsuccessful in general. I don't mean the money lost, but the goals that are not met.I also set optimistic goals where I had 3 days vacation out of the city :D

10 hours of study → My study was mostly about reviewing hand histories with a friend (Shoutout to Michal) and some solver work, we done together, and seperately. Also, some drills BTNvBB srp, SBvBTN, BBvBTN 3bet spots.It was sort of repetation of the previous week, but I had huge fatigue moments.I skipped playing 3 days pretty much. Luckily, it'll be over after this week and I'll have more free time in my schedule.I enjoyed watching hasipoker's videos in his youtube channel. He has some liveplay videos, and I find them inspirational when he explains his thought process in his videos. I'll leave the link below, in case you want to watch them.

I was running well this week again, but my play was also decent I believe in general. I had a tough session after my hangover on Sunday. I wasn't really focused, and I didn't prepare well for that session. My decision were quite poor and lazy. I felt like I was returning to my old habits, and thought processes which didn't really help me to understand the game better. Mistakes were repetitive, however I was able to focus better on the second half of the session and reduced the damage a bit. I know that it's hard to see the whole picture even after 15-20 sessions, let alone a single one, but I was quite happy about how patient I was, and not making emotional decisions.

I feel like I'm still hungry for the knowledge and I can study forever. It's just about the time I should figure out "To know, what I don't know"

I reduced the gym time, because I'm having a flu currently. I need to rest a bit. Also, taking day off from poker for today, although I had a study session :)

This week my focus will be mainly playing a good, solid strategy poker, and exploit imbalances whenever I see an opportunitiy.

Have a good rest of your week everyone!

10-12 hours of study → 10 hours study (Same as last week. Finished the Sunni_92 Podcast, rest of the work was Pio work, running drills, analyzing the plays vs. solver)

It was a relatively tough week in general. Busy routine felt like I'm not having enough time for myself. I skipped playing 2 days. I really felt tired after the Czech courses, gym, cooking etc.
I'm looking for a root cause of the fatigue but so far it seems like inordinary lifestyle currently I'm having. I should be done with the Czech courses after 2 weeks then slowly I'll get back to my previous schedule. Having 3 hours a day Czech is quite tiresome :)

Other than that, I'll be considering a joining a CFP in the future. I've seen that BitB is quite well structured. Their coaches are actively playing and their CFP is relatively smaller than the others. I want to reach NL500+ tables at the end of 2024, and I'm willing to put the necessary work towards those goals. It would be great to work with a likeminded people on a daily basis in that sense. They only accept NL200+ players for the moment unfortunately. I'll consider that option once more when I get to those stakes and collect 100k hands minimum, and hopefully I'll be a winning player when the time comes.

Have a good rest of your week everyone!

It's more about how often you win small pots, and you don't invest much in the pots that you'll likely gonna fold on pretty much any street. A nit, and a maniac who doesn't fold much post-flop can have a positive red line in this case, but good balance is necessary.

WWSF stat is important in that case. It basically tell you how much you win after seeing a flop. It also requires to be stationy in some spots, but not mindlessly. I expect for someone to have a break-even or a positive redline if they have WWSF above 48.

Yeah you're reading right. Sorry for the image quality. RIO crops them. I'll try to find a solution for better images.

Party Poker software is a bit weird. I don't know why I have 5k sessions there. It's probably counting every orbit as a session.

Poker Goals

20-24 hours of play --> 12 hours
10-12 hours of study --> 8 hours.

Some unexpected events happened during the last week. Friend had a birthday, which we celebrated wit almost 40 people, and one day I was helping a friend with his garage. Of course those are just lessons to be learned. I should manage my time better, and fill out the missing hours whenever I have the opportunity. I was lacking with prioritizing my goals a bit. This week, I'll pay better attention to it. I'm planning to take only Mondays off from poker since Friday, Saturday, and Sunday pools are very good and very profitable, but a day away from poker also sounds very reasonable for me. Body, and brain needs some rest :)

I was close to my study hours but still couldn't reach it for the reasons above. I was able to do some BTNvBB, SBvBTN, BBvBTN 3bet pot drills. They're quite nice to get used to the global strategy. I can't say it's easy to play against the solver but definitely it's good for noticing what my opponents and I are doing wrong, where are we deviating. I'll continue to the study this week as well.

I was mainly the playing reg tables at Party Poker last week. I can say that I did well with table selecting. I had a very good week with also being on the right side of the equilibrium. I was also more disciplined with my folds too. This also, help me to understand variance better. Of course it's still early to talk about long-term results but I believe with the right mindset, dedication, and hard work I'll be able to achieve my goals.

Part of my study will be also Saulo Costa's youtube videos. I think it's one of the most valuable poker content out there, and it's for free. It's always good to see how high stakes pros approach lower limits, and what kind of adjustments they make.

Thanks for reading, and good luck at the tables!

I have them in the morning usually. It's a guided meditation via Headspace app. I pick whatever is shown on the main page. It's somewhat personalized. It takes approximately 20 minutes every morning.

Graph from Pokerstars since mid 2021;

By stakes

I've also recently started to grind some NL100 at Party Poker. Sample is small but losing currently at NL100, Clearing first dep bonus for $600 helped me to stay at those stakes quite a bit for the moment.

Party Poker by stakes;

It looks like this so far. I'll be sharing the this week's goal today around CET evening.

July 3, 2023 | 9:53 a.m.

Hello everyone!

I'm 6 max. NLHE cash game player, who's totally in love with poker. I aim to learn the game pretty much every day. I've playing poker for the last 10 years but recently taking it more seriously after losing my 9-5 corporate job. I've played in various sites and ended up being a winning player with a small margin for the games up to NL50. I've started to shot take NL100 recently. I'm losing at that stake currently but I'm confident that I'll be able to beat this stake after I fix my obvious leaks.

What are my goals in poker?

In short I'm aiming to become the best poker player/best self I can ever be. Process is long and not easy. There are a lot of ups and downs and I'm still learning on those topics. I'm setting daily and weekly goals currently, and it's my priority to achieve them. I usually learn poker by discussing with friends and/or recently running some drills. I still don't understand the solver outputs much but I'm spending everyday around 1 hour to understand some concepts better. By the end of 2023 I aim to establish myself as a NL200 winning regular, and by the end of 2024 I aim at NL500+ earning my income from poker mainly.

I sometimes feel lost when it comes to learn new poker concepts. It's actually the reason that name of the blog is Steady Poker Journey. I digest the information slowly but surely :)

I'll soon share some graphs from my results since 2022. Also, I'll be sharing my weekly goals, and reviewing them here, at the end of each week.
