Thanks guys, nice to see that a lot of people has still different opinion on those common spot, even between very good player.
Don't you think that there is more merit to begin 3bet more hand with KQo AJo AQo type of hands, and flat all those who has a good potential in 3 way ? I don't know how fluctuate the EV of flatting an offsuit Broadway hand if we get 3 way very often. Thanks.

Post | bernard posted in NLHE: Common Spot with Fish and Regs

Hi guys , me and a friend are disagree about one spot. We are on the BU , BB is a fish, CO reg opens, he thinks that we must have a linear 3bet range, imo, i think there is some merits to flat premium to keep the fish and force him to make more mistakes postflop.
It's very hard to quantify everything, and we would like to hear more opinion about this spot. Thanks.

Hi Chris, thanks for this content,

9:00 top left J9o. You quickly fold on the turn. I expected this combo to be a call again. I assume we bet 100% on the flop (or maybe check a small portion of our range like 88-TT and complete garbage like 63o?) so our range on the turn has any 7x Jx Ax and most broadways, is that correct ?

So we have to fold 7x (and also QQ-KK if we play limp only pre, which I doubt. And if we play a mixed strat then we have less Ax in our limping range to defend with so we still fold a lot), lots of KQ KT (or these combos might be better to call than J9 do to the 4 outs to the nuts but I doubt it since how much a Jx blocks villain's value range). So we have to fold all of these before we fold any Jx. Therefore I would think J9 needs to be called ott in order not to be overfolding (but I didn't run any sim on PIO to confirm this)

So do you think it's a GTO call ? If yes, how do you justify your exploit here ? I know villain did a ridiculous slowplay/miss value at the very first hand of the video, but on the other hand I don't expect him to raise as thin as the Ax combos he would check back pre and his value range is therefore pretty thin, and from this kind of players I would expect some random bluffs, thus he could quickly be unbalanced towards bluffs. I also think they tend to give up a lot on the river so we realize our equity pretty well in most cases.

One could argue we block the most natural bluffs T9 98, which would make J9 a less better call than, for example J5. Is that part of the reason you decided to fold ?

Thank you again for all these great videos, I learn a lot.
