Yup.  25NL Zoom, seeing some regs doing that.  As a result I'm paranoid of UTG open limps from regs/regish looking players...lol.

Comment | buzzcut commented on Beating 'GTO'?

RE: GTO, bots, is HU solved....for those interested in reading more there is an interesting thread on 2+2, in NVG titled "Heads Up Hold'em Solved?". One of the PhD students from the University of Alberta, "I'm one of the PhD students...that developed Hyperborean and Polaris" chimed in starting at post #43 and made a number of posts after that discussing the current state of the best bots in the world, GTO, etc.  If you are interested in such things, it's a good read.

"i'd say if you were going to use any, the 3 bet vs hero would be nice. sometimes you feel like someone is picking on you and 3 betting you a ton.."

^^This for sure. I play a lot of Zoom and sometimes when you are being 3bet a lot, this stat helps to keep a level head.  You look at the stat and see, oh, he's not getting out of line.

Hand History | buzzcut posted in NLHE: 25NL Zoom - Missed Value w/Boat 200BB Deep?
BN: $13.15
SB: $116.59
BB: $49.77 (Hero)
UTG: $27.42
HJ: $13.27
CO: $2.73
SB is 29/14/3.5
CO is 42/20
Preflop ($0.35) (6 Players)
Hero was dealt 9 9
UTG folds, HJ folds, CO raises to $0.85, BN folds, SB calls $0.75, Hero calls $0.60
IP on SB Effective 200BB deep, easy call.
Flop ($2.55) Q Q 9 (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks, CO bets $1.88, and is all in, SB raises to $4.25, Hero calls $4.25
I thought the SB would C/R vs the fish with a relatively wide range trying to force me out and get HU with the fish once the board came out pretty wet. SBs range? TT+, AQ, KQ, QJs, QTs. I thought the SB would still have strong hands in his range because I don't think he'd 3Bet them preflop because the CO's pathetic stack and SB would be looking to get me to come along in the BB 200BB deep and trap? Based on this I didn't raise the flop and just flatted, hoping he'd fire the turn again, or should I have raised?
Turn ($12.93) Q Q 9 J (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6.75, SB calls $6.75
When he checks, I think he's weak (well relative to a C/R pot).
River ($26.43) Q Q 9 J 5 (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $13, SB calls $13
The River is a blank, I bet half pot for value, but at the same time, if the SB would have shoved AI over top for 125BB, I'd have likely puked and called and lost to QQ, JJ or QJ....errr I mean I'd fold.

When I started typing this I thought I might have missed out on some value, but in the end I did get a 100BBs with the 4th nuts, which is pretty good.

Comments are welcome.
Final Pot
Hero has 9 9 Hero wins $7.82 , Hero wins $42.61

Thanks for the reply Chael.  I was wondering if 3Bet was better than flatting here, if you are saying it is, clearly it is.  So duly note.  As for the rest, I appreciate the direct and honest feedback.  Clearly, I butchered it, but got lucky in the end.

I agree with Chael about microstakes. A lot of players who call a 3b know there's going to be a cbet coming in a 3b pot a high % of the time and will float ip and if a second barrel doesnt come, look for a scare card (board dependent ) and stab at the turn viewing a chk from the 3better as weakness. Especially on a board like this, if they know the blinds are 3betting wide.

I'm never folding the turn to a agg player like that.
