In general, Solvers have a narrow focus. For example they can not calculate the EV of hole cards for an entire game. Someday they will, but not yet.

Simulation has a wide focus, plays an entire game, every street and every position, with a full table. The current version simulates 6-Max No Limit Hold'em. There is one Hero and 5 opponents. Opponents can be any combination of Average, Fish, NIT, LAG, or TAG. Both Hero and opponents strategy can be edited.

The results of a Solver are precise but currently limited. The results of simulation is a close approximation but applies to a complete game. For example, if you choose to use EV to construct a Range it is the relative values that are important. Is the EV of AJo greater than 77.

Solvers and simulation are both very useful. It's not a decision to use one or the other. I suggest using both.

The punchline of an old joke: "I don't have to outrun the Bear, I only have to outrun you".

Designed to allow a user to improve their win rate. Based on a very fast simulator that acts like a dealer, controlling the game, and that uses external files to make all player decisions. Every file in the database can be edited with specialized editors. The user can edit both his Strategy and opponents Strategy. To start using, change something like the Hero's default range on the Button for Open, Call, 3 Bet. etc.. Use 'Preflop' 'Auto Gen' to change ranges by a percentage. Run 100,000 hands in about 4 seconds and check the win rate. Now enter your normal range and run again. If your win rate is better than the default range can you make it larger or smaller and improve on it. Use 'Options' Select Players to enable MDF for Hero. You will see a dramatic change in win rate.

Simulation allows for the close approximation of things like hole card EV and the EV of made hands and draws on any street. Even MDF percentage. There are many reports available.

Don't trust the results. Check the 'Hand History box and 'Run' 10,000 hands and import the Hand History files into Holdem Manager.

I will answer questions but will not Spam.

You are not playing against yourself. There is a Strategy for the Hero and Strategies for each of the other players. Both can be edited. In the next release you will be able to use your own Hand Histories to automatically create Strategy for your real opponents. For now, you can edit your opponents for the player types Average, Fish, NIT, LAG, and TAG. The defaults are currently reasonable but far from perfect.

It is experimentation not coaching. The central focus is win rate. You can change a Strategy element such as the Button open range. Increase from default by 5% then decrease it by 5% using preflop Auto Gen. Your win rate will change. Set it to what you normally use. Now you have 4 win rates to compare, yours and three others. Is yours the best? Can you achieve a better win rate by modifying your range? How about your MDF range?

There are no meaningful hints. But there are many reports that give useful information about the results. Things like the approximate EV of every starting hand on every street or the EV of draws and made hands on the Flop.

The simulator can play about 100,000 hands in about 4 seconds. The win rate is a result of all hands played. Can't really compare the two. Solver has a narrow focus. Simulation has a very broad focus. Both are good.

Yes. You edit both your opponents Strategy and your own Strategy. The measure of success is your win rate. Run 100,000 hands, edit a Strategy element such as preflop open ranges, and run again. If your win rate increases you are on the right track. There are many reports to help you.

I have invested a full year of my time in the application and I have hired a full time programmer to assist me.

A new free Hold'em application is now available at peakholdem.com. It is unique enough to be patent pending. The simple goal is to dramatically improve your win rate.

I do not want to spam but would like to announce the availability of a new Hold'em application. Is that OK?
