They are called Reg fish for a reason. Your logic is sound but you need to be very disciplined post flop since you are playing hands that can be dominated.

Why you no 3bet dat thang on the button?
Are you allergic to money?

In Position the value of checking to induce is not as attractive since you are guaranteed to miss a street of value. Just fire 3 streets especially against a blinds range that includes a lot of 9x.

Out Of Position is a much better spot to check the turn to open up his bluff range. Against an aggro floater, that King is red meat dripping with blood. He bluffs, you min checkraise and then ship the river. #stackadonk

Preflop - 3bet
As played flop - ok
Turn -meh
River - snap call raise

BTW, those ranges you put him on do not check the turn. What is he checking turn with that you are worried about.... Only TT

Construct his range not just on his river action but on his action on all streets.

OP, my sense is that you are correct as I have struggled with this as well. Ed Miller 1% GTO book almost screwed my 50nl game up to no end. Play Exploitive, but do read Janda to understand optimal math in blinds and other standard situations. It's one thing to know the math, it's another to be a GTO purist.

What value hand is villian holding that 1) flatted PF, 2) doesn't fold to our Cbet, and 3) we beat.

His range is mega polarized with a lot of air.

Check and snap call river.
That river bet by villain makes me happy if I'm you.

Most of his combos are AK, AQ taking one last stab at the pot. I don't play full ring so I could be off on ranges.

So you were playing this hand as a pure bluff and got looked up. Ok. I get that. I was reading a value line into your post at first.

Personally, I'm check calling 1 street and reevaluating if I get to the river....which I don't expect to.

Blind defend is good.

I think checking the flop vs a Regular who flatted PF is a fine way to extract max value from your hand. Rather than Cbet and fold out mid PPs and air, we induce. Even if he has Qx, I think we end up taking the same amount of his stack as when we Cbet. I'm not saying this is the only line but I've found it more profitable vs. Regs than not.

May 8, 2015 | 7:28 p.m.

I think your problem is your approach to the flop was "standard Cbet here". Cam Crouch advised that you determine on the flop if you are going for 3 streets of value or less. If 3, then fire a Cbet. If not, check back to disguise and induce.

I'm not going for 3 streets here on a reg whose calling range has a lot of set mining going on. You need to ask the classic question... "why am I betting?".

can't find it searching...do you know the pro who made the video or the title?

May 7, 2015 | 11:51 p.m.

By calling PF and the SPR on the flop, I'm committed on all non-Ace flops. His check/ship is scary but I think you're committed with the odds.

Turn raise is good. Min donk blocking bets are typically flush draws or weak pair so you need to make them pay. Unfortunately, he assumed you'd assume that and set you up. Raise/Fold turn is painful but +EV. Turn aggression from a weak player = Set or better.

How have Bovada players here adjusted your Pre and Post Flop GTO ranges due to the anonymous untraceable nature of the site?

My sense is to lean more toward value since I'm not trying to balance my range in some guys database/HUD.

Thoughts?

Just starting in GTO and constructing my Ranges. Toy Gaming series is Elite so I need a recommendation for my Essential Plan. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are a member watch Crouch and/or Paul live play videos. Good narrative so you can see their flop thought process.

Is there a good HM/PT leaks video(s) on RIO Essential? I saw one quick one but it seems that there would be more stats leak finder videos to go with the hand history reviews.

May 2, 2015 | 1:51 p.m.

If you are cbetting 100%, then I'm going to float you and take the pot away on turn/river.

Are you c/f turn on a blank or are you barreling 2-3 streets when you cbet 100%?

The former is bad....the latter is questionable.

May 2, 2015 | 1:45 p.m.

Steve, in many spots I'm interpreting that you are trying to balance your range. "I don't always want to be call call folding TP bad kicker". Maybe that was a bad example but for anon sites your not worried about balancing your range right? so why would the optimal play not be a single line every time the hand/board is the same?

I guess I'm struggling with the larger applicability of GTO to Bovada.

RIO Help!

Villain Range Construction and elimination is a gaping hole in my otherwise solid game. Need advice from successful range construction players on the best way to cement this process in my game.

What has worked for you?
- software (in or out of play)
- specific videos (the ones on rio are good but not getting me to cement this into my game)
- specific thought process or checklist in play
- ???

I just mentally can't get over deferring back to my own two cards the majority of the time. I'm willing to do whatever it takes but to date what I've tried doesn't stick. In sure I'm not the only one. Thanks for any advice or experience you can share.
