That's why I didn't do it. The King of Diamonds. I didn't think it was 50/50 anymore then after I counted the combos but he showed me J8dd so I was a little disappointed.......

June 13, 2014 | 5:36 p.m.

My hand block an Ace so I didn't think he had one while the board brings up SD/FD which probably means that he has air or semi bluff and I recalled him not firing turn lightly against me. I had to pause to pose as if I'm thinking about folding but I actually was really thinking for real whether to CR or not.

I don't think I can fold turn or river because he reps too narrow but seeing that this is FR game I guess I'd fold river confused.

May 28, 2014 | 9:07 a.m.

Hand 1:

An unknown player.

I checked/back on turn because my kicker is not that great and I didn't think he would call off three streets of value with worse but that's debatable. I think betting turn is OK though because we improved a little.

Hand 2:

SB is 29/29/af2.0   18 hands

BB is 23/19/af4.0/3bet7.0  329 hands

I checked back on flop because I'd hate getting CR by BB and he is pretty aggressive so.... unless you guys think that's a good thing.

Just the Poker Stars normal. I agree about the sizing, I could go lower with my entire range.

May 14, 2014 | 3 p.m.

These are hands from the session last night, I played around 3.4k hands.

Hand 1:

BTN (BTN): 180 BB (VPIP: 15.38, PFR: 15.38, 3Bet Preflop: 15.38, Hands: 26)
SB (SB): 126.5 BB (VPIP: 26.56, PFR: 21.88, 3Bet Preflop: 12.77, Hands: 134)
BB (BB): 171.78 BB (VPIP: 11.76, PFR: 5.88, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 17)
UTG (UTG): 111.82 BB (VPIP: 15.89, PFR: 10.28, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 109)
Hero (MP): 276.92 BB
CO (CO): 148.32 BB (VPIP: 20.54, PFR: 16.52, 3Bet Preflop: 1.14, Hands: 236)

I liked my chances on river because only AK that gets to the river is
one combo of AhKh but he typed "lol AK????" and he came pretty close to
folding so, I don't know, may be it was too much....

Hand 2:

BTN (BTN): 146.78 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 3)
SB (SB): 198.36 BB (VPIP: 19.57, PFR: 11.96, 3Bet Preflop: 9.52, Hands: 92)
BB (BB): 250.12 BB (VPIP: 28.72, PFR: 23.40, 3Bet Preflop: 8.33, Hands: 100)
UTG (UTG): 179.72 BB (VPIP: 26.67, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: 37.50, Hands: 15)
Hero (MP): 144.92 BB
CO (CO): 22.96 BB

Again, getting this lucky on river while I rep so little by the look of turn action, I felt compelled to shove because it looks quite FOS? I don't know if you agree here because this spot could very well end up in a snap fold by him.

Hand 3:

BTN (BTN): 105.94 BB (VPIP: 19.15, PFR: 14.89, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 95)
SB (SB): 117.44 BB (VPIP: 25.82, PFR: 19.78, 3Bet Preflop: 10.71, Hands: 188)
BB (BB): 128.14 BB (VPIP: 7.69, PFR: 7.69, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 13)
Hero (UTG): 139.86 BB
MP (MP): 106.72 BB (VPIP: 28.81, PFR: 22.03, 3Bet Preflop: 8.93, Hands: 122)
CO (CO): 157.1 BB (VPIP: 30.36, PFR: 26.79, 3Bet Preflop: 26.32, Hands: 57)

I'm willing to shove here on flop but it's inappropriate given position. I just ignored that it's a top set because any set does the work here and the texture is wet/action oriented so raise had to be the correct line?

Hand 4:

BTN (BTN): 87.18 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 2)
SB (SB): 97.58 BB (VPIP: 19.63, PFR: 14.02, 3Bet Preflop: 4.55, Hands: 111)
Hero (BB): 226.72 BB
UTG (UTG): 156 BB (VPIP: 20.67, PFR: 17.33, 3Bet Preflop: 8.96, Hands: 153)
MP (MP): 100.92 BB (VPIP: 28.91, PFR: 12.50, 3Bet Preflop: 6.06, Hands: 131)
CO (CO): 120.12 BB (VPIP: 25.42, PFR: 20.34, 3Bet Preflop: 15.00, Hands: 61)

The easiest hand in the bunch. Not much to discuss here.....  I don't think.....

Hand 5:

BTN (BTN): 111.84 BB (VPIP: 28.85, PFR: 28.85, 3Bet Preflop: 20.00, Hands: 52)
SB (SB): 140.08 BB (VPIP: 13.51, PFR: 8.11, 3Bet Preflop: 6.25, Hands: 38)
BB (BB): 274.04 BB (VPIP: 25.00, PFR: 20.24, 3Bet Preflop: 13.89, Hands: 84)
Hero (UTG): 102.72 BB
MP (MP): 100.34 BB (VPIP: 25.00, PFR: 25.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 5)
CO (CO): 130.62 BB (VPIP: 20.73, PFR: 10.37, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 171)

This one is controversial and probably drops jaws.... but I'm actually trying to balance my checkbook here.

Hand 6:

Hero (BTN): 120.84 BB
SB (SB): 101.3 BB (VPIP: 15.75, PFR: 13.01, 3Bet Preflop: 3.33, Hands: 150)
BB (BB): 139.8 BB (VPIP: 28.17, PFR: 25.35, 3Bet Preflop: 13.79, Hands: 72)
UTG (UTG): 113.84 BB (VPIP: 16.03, PFR: 12.60, 3Bet Preflop: 7.34, Hands: 266)
MP (MP): 130.84 BB (VPIP: 25.89, PFR: 21.43, 3Bet Preflop: 9.80, Hands: 114)
CO (CO): 102 BB (VPIP: 16.81, PFR: 11.50, 3Bet Preflop: 3.51, Hands: 115)

I don't know WTF I'm doing here but I think I'm shoving for value against something like KK/QQ.....

Hand 7:

BTN (BTN): 110.9 BB (VPIP: 21.18, PFR: 19.22, 3Bet Preflop: 7.55, Hands: 260)
SB (SB): 50.12 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 2)
Hero (BB): 101.5 BB
UTG (UTG): 110.38 BB (VPIP: 23.08, PFR: 17.95, 3Bet Preflop: 13.33, Hands: 41)
MP (MP): 100 BB (VPIP: 27.96, PFR: 20.43, 3Bet Preflop: 8.89, Hands: 96)
CO (CO): 101.5 BB (VPIP: 22.73, PFR: 22.73, 3Bet Preflop: 12.50, Hands: 22)

I think the shove might not be necessary but I decided to cover all basis as in fold out Kings better kickers, worse, plus missed draws. So, yeah it's a bluff partially.

Hand 8:

BTN (BTN): 186.24 BB (VPIP: 17.45, PFR: 12.08, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 151)
Hero (SB): 105.04 BB
BB (BB): 103.5 BB (VPIP: 31.67, PFR: 15.00, 3Bet Preflop: 3.45, Hands: 61)
UTG (UTG): 140.1 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 12)
MP (MP): 171.82 BB (VPIP: 31.25, PFR: 27.08, 3Bet Preflop: 8.33, Hands: 48)
CO (CO): 133.14 BB (VPIP: 20.00, PFR: 10.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 10)

I was trying to represent a bluff here but in retrospect may this really should be done with an actual bluff. I was thinking someone might hold a NFD blocker which could lean my range towards bluff.

Hand 9:

BTN (BTN): 91.58 BB
SB (SB): 102.54 BB (VPIP: 24.00, PFR: 24.00, 3Bet Preflop: 16.67, Hands: 25)
Hero (BB): 237.96 BB
UTG (UTG): 100 BB (VPIP: 25.71, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: 10.53, Hands: 35)
MP (MP): 129.82 BB (VPIP: 38.46, PFR: 38.46, 3Bet Preflop: 50.00, Hands: 13)
CO (CO): 101.5 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 1)

I think this is pretty standard given that he is a fish.

May 10, 2014 | 2:42 p.m.

We are in position here unless you are speaking in villain's shoes. If you guys want to, we can discuss the villain's actual range now.

I 3bet/shoved on tiurn and he started to tank, around 10 seconds into his tank, I knew then that the I had him beat so I was relieved but when he tanked another 10 seconds, I became concerned because then I realized that the I just gave him the easiest of options on turn.

So, although I can see that some of you find the turn spot trivial, I tend to think that the I played the hand poorly because if we 3bet/shove on turn then 22/66 is calling yet Tx worse kicker might fold and over pairs will likely fold.

May 9, 2014 | 1 a.m.

Yeah, you summed it up nicely. It's not a fold but it's not a shove either.

May 8, 2014 | 2:16 p.m.

So, the correct line is to just flat the turn CR no? It plays better against his overall range? My problem here was that I had zero expectation for the CR thus I feel like I made an error on turn.

May 8, 2014 | 12:51 p.m.

Yeah, his turn CR sizing seems bad vs me(the unknown player in his POV) so that helps us to make the decision a bit easier in regards to an option to fold to the turn CR. 3bet/shoving on turn is questionable though because we hold the Ace of Hearts and because he is an unknown player, yeah, I should've thought about that a little more here, I think. Probably, the best line is to flat his turn CR.

May 8, 2014 | 9:16 a.m.

I'd open it if I don't see much obstacles in my way and that seems to be like the majority of time in 50NL Zoom 6Max anyways.

May 7, 2014 | 3:25 p.m.

It's a tough spot because I think we are supposed to bet but the stack sizes are awkward where getting bluffed is a real problem yet shoving is too thin. So, I would start by checking and see what he does.

May 7, 2014 | 9:33 a.m.

Once we CR on turn, it seems -EV to check river because it allows him to get away from his hand by giving him options to check/back or bet/fold on river. We are less concerned with his bluffing range here because this board texture smashes his vs UTG 3bet range.

May 7, 2014 | 3:56 a.m.

Hey, there. To share my thoughts here, I felt that him leading into two players on this board looked really strong like a set, over pairs, or AK/KQ. TBH, I didn't really think much about his semi bluffing range which I think was a mistake because I didn't adjust well on river. FD showing up was a concern because then my outs could be dirty but I felt like I might have enough implied odds to flat turn because my OESD seemed somewhat disguised. It felt thin though or may be even wrong. Usually, I tend to think that the board pairing on river is not a good place to bluff so that's another reason why I decided to check/back. Yeah, this is a part of my game that needs more work which is to bluff with hands with no or not enough equity to check/back to win the pot at SD. I find myself talking to myself saying "Nooooooooo!!" at SD because firing would've won the hands. Thanks for your help though. I should think about the what if I miss type of situations more often because without it, the plan to flat turn is not exactly complete.

May 6, 2014 | 5:14 p.m.

KK is good enough to 3bet pre. No one disagrees there. Now, is it good enough to 3bet big pre oop given that it's an unknown player? I think that's a pretty good question. In Zoom games, I tend to think that it is OKish.

May 6, 2014 | 3:40 p.m.

No, that's not standard at all. So, yeah, that could be a tell. It's not standard at 100NL Zoom either.
