why are you 3xing the btn?

Feb. 16, 2013 | 1:32 a.m.

Nice video once again, about a few hands -

1:16 : J3ss I guess you look at fold to cbet stat before cbetting? What min % do you usually look before cbetting when you have very little equity like on that T34cc flop

10:08 AJdd you get 4bet sbvsbtn, is 5 bet jamming more profitable here then flatting a 4bet oop vs a opponent who seems very agro? Are you still flatting if the AJ was offsuit here?

23:26 You fold your bb with A8ss to a 38/25 co open, but earlier you defend A6o to btn open, what are the reasons for that?

28:28 K9cc open fold utg with a weak player on the bb, is this too loose to open ?

34:16 Open fold K9ss on co 5 handed, reasons for that?

Great video series and looking forward to your next one

Great video James once again really glad you made this video series. I have a few questions if you don’t mind. First off what is the CF in your hud, 3Bve, BVB? How did you setup HM1 to work like that?

11:38: In position cold 4 bet. You raise 14 to 32 , is making it smaller like 29 in this spot better and make it 32 only if you are oop?

22:13 : AJ defend bb, villain checks back flop and bets turn and you call. Do you float oop if he bets flop? If he barrels 3h turn do you float again?

27:39: 50bb reg minraise mp and you flat 77 on btn. Whats the smallest pp you call here on the btn? What if he had x3 vs the minraise?

31:15: You 4bet with 54 on 844cc, do you fold QQc+ if you were at the place of Bananazoo facing this kind of action?

33:09: you 3bet a recreational player with K7ss, I guess you are bluffing using the blocker of the K? Is it better to just make these bluff 3 bets vs regs who fold more to 3bets oop or are they still profitable vs a recreational player who won’t fold a lot the the 3bet?

38: JJ you 3bet a recreational player mp open from sb and say that you usually flat those hands vs regs. What is the reason for that?

42:00 You 4bet vs a squeeze on the btn, is it not more profitable to flat since there is probably no hand that you beat that will 5 bet shove other then maybe AK?

44:00 54ss hand you get c/r on K54, do you like flatting with the intent to bluff any turn that improves your equity?

I see, thanks for the answers.

hey james good video, I have a few questions:

~19:00 the Q8ss hand where you decide to two barrel, what do you do if he flats the turn on a river that bricks (paired board , non heart etc)? On a river that doesn't brick (hearts, kings or cards you can rep etc)?

21:38 you open A5o from co, thoughts on the range? Also thoughts on making is 2.5 instead of 3 on CO like many advice to do so?

~21:00 KQss you squeeze from btn, is flatting from btn bad to keep dominated hands like KJ in the pot or is it always better to squeeze here?

26:00 you 3bet 78ss and say you prefer staying out of the way in these spots. What is your flatting range here on the btn if you prefer fold<3bet
38:00 you 3bet AK from sb then go for c/c on J96, it works well with vilain checking down. But vs aggro opponent what is the best line here? Assuming he might 2 and 3 barrel many turns and rivers? Does c/c become too exploitable?

44:00 vs unknown who seems to be a "fish", don't you lose a lot of value by not 3 betting your QQ oop pre?

Good video series overall. For your next one it would be great if you could 4-6 table a normal 6-max vs Zoom so you could talk about how different dynamics effect your play and how to play different kind of opponents.

at min~11 you fold Ajo, is this a standard snap fold at a cash game table fr? If so whats your range for opening there?

Thoughts on adding small numbers when raising pre vs just min raising? Example t800 1612vs1600?

I think KK is a snap, you could maybe fold QQ here but even that is really close.

Post | DkWted posted in MTT: Theory : Playing Hudless
Many have different opinions on this matter and I know a lot of players with a lot of sucess who play without a hud. I have tried both, playing with a hud and without, and wanted to hear what some of you guys had to say about them. I feel a lot of decisions are taken based on stats which might be highly influenced by early stages. When a reg would play very tight for ~hands early on and then loosen up a lot deeper, but still will have very tight stats. Then, most decisions are based on stats which are misleading. I am still playing with a hud regardless since most of my session I am 16tabling+ even though I am comfortable with that number of tables. I was wondering what you guys think about playing hudless and if the pros of doing so outcome the pros of playing with a hud.

I like flatting in this spot

Dec. 12, 2012 | 1:38 p.m.

I always find these very interesting, what do you consider marginal enough to pass on? Example : You have 30 bb and a pretty big edge in a 26$ mtt, and lets say after a few raises someone shove and you have ~40% equity vs his range and you need 36% to make a profit so in this example you have ~+4% equity. Do you take this spot or do you think its too marginal, if not, after how much +% ( % you have vs vilain range - % needed to show profit) do you take the spot? I m not sure if what I m asking is clear but hope you understand.

+1 to all these ideas, I also think adding some kind of notification system like on facebook would be a great idea.

So basically we are 8 left in the big 11 with a ridiculously soft field apart from 1 reg with the name hdjgkfkgsdl. He had around 4 mil when we were like 12 and has been very active since droping down to 1mil. He is capable of a lot and I was in a tough spot. Is this one of those spots where you shouldnt call and wait for a less variance spot? I was pretty sure I was ahead of his range and my be result oriented. Obv the results of the hand absolutly crushed me since he went on to win the whole thing.

Anyways heres the hand. Would like to know what you guys think regardless of his hand and of me having him beat in this spot. Is this a fold, or is this a no brainer? Payouts were 13k for first , 1k for 8.
