14 BB in mp2 all the players behind me are recreational and I assume have pretty similar tight calling ranges 88+, AJ+, some of them maybe call KQ sometimes as well as AT and 77. Someone may go crazy and call anypair and would still be normal but my read is the one above. We are far from the money. What should my pushing range look like here?

why would it be so hard to beat if by just buying in you are making money? Or it doesnt really work like that?

Post | Bernardo Crespo posted in MTT: Late Registration?

I've a doubt, I'm not really at tournament poker math, but I understand the following concept.

Each of the chips of a shortstack are worth more than each of the chips of a bigstack and that these increases as less players remain in the field.

And then I asked myself if it would be better to register late for tournaments than early. I mean if you buyin from the start your 3000 chips or whatever are going to be worth let's say $10 bucks, but if you late register you are going to get those same 3000 chips that were worth $10 bucks but now are worth say $14 bucks or whatever it is, I mean you would be making $4 bucks by just registering late.

But on the otherside the worst players would be out, everybody will have you covered (so you cant resist an all in) and that well obviously you wont have room because you will start with few BBs.

I only have intentions to do this in turbo micro-low tournaments where I know I have a big edge and even though the worst players are out I still have a considerable edge on the reamining players.

What do you think about this?

Also what win rate should I expect playing short stack vs playing big stack?

Post | Bernardo Crespo posted in Chatter: Should I play live?

I've been thinking about changing to live poker, there are a couple of casinos in my city holding $2/$4 and the occasional 4/8 games that are suuuuuper soft. People there have no clue of bet sizing, they dont think in terms of BBs they just think of the money. A $28 raise in a $2/$4 game is smaller for them than a $40 raise in a 5/10 game, you see people playing draws in insane ways, calling with bluff catchers huge river bets, etc. You know the kind of game where you are gonna get called down a lot and you can value bet huge.

So the thing is I have clearly an edge in this games. Online I play nl25 and I think I have like a 5bb/100 at the most and I play 4 tables max.

How do you think my bb/100 rate or hourly rate would be at those live games?

I would have jammed on the flop, and if not, check raise on the turn if you think you'd get enough fold equity against this player

How do you review your sessions? what tools (software, etc) do you use? and how often do you review a session?

How many time do you study the game in comparison to playing? and what do you do when you study?

I want help with these since I dont do it at all, and I wanna improve.

Post | Bernardo Crespo posted in Chatter: Bankroll Management?

How do you manage your bankroll for NLHE cash games and MTT tournaments, why and what bankroll management (How many buy-ins) do you recommend me?.

I wanna start playing poker seriously. I have a little more than 400 bucks in my account and I'd like to start in the .08/.16 games (25 buy-ins). Do you think is enough or should I drop down to .05/.10.?

When (How many buy-ins) would you move up to the next limit?.

Thanks

Post | Bernardo Crespo posted in Chatter: Where do I start?

As soon as I fix some issues with payment procedement I'll buy the Essential Plan. I'm looking for some help here in the site. Where do I start?

I'll say my poker foundations come from pokerstrategy.com and a few books, Building a Bankroll, Poker Theory and Practice (which I found a little bit tricky) and some other not really about strategy as The Poker Mindset and Treat Your Poker Like a Bussiness.

What videos do you recommend me to start with? Which pros to follow? Any books? Any advice to improve my game would be great.

Thanks

On the flop I guess it depends of the AF of villian, if its really high x/r larger as SCS said, if he hasnt AF really high. Pot bet on flop and if raised reraise with intention to go all in, if only called, turn 2/3 reaching commitment (if raised raise all in, if called all in on the river).

And if you say you have not many hands on villain I'd follow the Pot Bet, 2/3, All in line (Actually his stats of 40/13 is enough info for following this line he's having a lot of draws on this flop).

I've been playing this ABC strategy that I found at pokerstrategy.com and it really worked for NL5 and NL10, but know that I'm at NL25 I think I'm just an even player, I'd really like to advance to NL50 and beyond (as far as I can get) so I ask for your help to get better and beat this games, any good books for this? I heard "Building a bankroll by Pawel Nazarewicz is what I need, but I'd like a second opinion, or any info about using a HUD right to explote other players, anything you think can help my frustration.

Help please!, Thanks in advance.
