Doing things you enjoy by yourself is the nuts! Took me 28 years and a kid to learn that :-)

I would recommend you to take the potential of stress very seriously!

I was very overworked (and underpaid) at my job last year. For several months i could just feel how it got worse and worse, and how deeply it impacted my personal life (which i value so much more than my work life)

I was not a good partner to my girlfriend, and i was not a good father to my son. Mentally i was constantly working, even though i wasnt on the clock

So i quit, without another job on hand.

The healing began instantly, but it took sometime to get back to my "old self".

Probaly one of the best decisions of my life!

I know situations differ, and i was lucky enough to be in a spot where i could afford quitting.

But take it serious, if it gets to bad, it can take a long time to get back!

I have never commented on your other blogs, but i have read through them all.

So happy to see this post!

Good luck!

Quick update!

Friday and saturday have been even more horrible than the days before, nothing works for me, and i found myself getting frustrated, which is not a feeling i normally get.

As im solely playing poker for fun i have decided to take some time off and will therefore not complete my goal. I dont want my recent bad results to have a negative effect on my mood and my family.

Thanks to the few people who decided to follow this very short lived blog, i'm sorry to end it this quickly.

Good luck to everybody, and remember to stay indoors, grind and wash your hand!

Cheers

Mikkel :)

I was locked out of the corporate systems for the most of the day, which mean i have had plenty of time to grind today. Unfortunately i suffered from some of the same problems which resulted in a lot of really really bad river calls today. I even managed to blew almost 4 buy ins in the span of 20 hands!

This is the worst session i have had this year, hopefully it will change for the better. I'm gonna take the day off from the tables tomorrow and hopefully return Friday with a better mindset.

Hands played: 2422/10000 - Pace 1440

March 18, 2020 | 9:59 p.m.

First day of grind in the books. I was really hoping to get to 1k hands today, but from the get go i just felt my thought process were off, and i wasn't playing well. Normally i would have quit earlier, but with the volume goal in mind i kept going.

I will hopefully see better results the next days.

I have 13 days to finish 10k hand which avg around 770 every day, so i'm allready starting a little behind pace, but the plan is to make that back a day where i feel more in the zone!

Stay safe, wash your hands and click some buttons everyone!

Thx for the replies! Im from Denmark.

First session were 24 hands before my son woke up (parent lige i guess, Gf were out running) i can hopefully find and hour or two to grind after he is safely tugged in his bed!

Stay safe, wash your hands and click some buttons everyone!

Post | mikkelkm92 posted in Chatter: Corona lockdown grind.

Hello run it once

Im starting this short term blog in an effort to motivate me to get some hands in during this corona lockdown.

Who am i?*
I'm 27 years old, and have been playing poker on and off since i was 17. I have never been good but have managed to have consecutive years with profits from micro tournaments during my studies (around 3-5k$/a year) and have also been winning in cg below NL25 and Hu SNG up to 15$.

After a long break my motivation came back last month, and i have had pretty satisfying results in CG and extremely bad results in tournaments.

As a full time worker and first time father to my son of 4 months, i'm a very low volume grinder, and i have no aspirations to someday become a pro, i solely play poker because i enjoy it.

Atm i work from home, which saves me about 2 hours of transport time each day, and due to the current situation i avoid social gatherings which frees up a lot of time, and i have therefore decided to make this blog which will last until the 30th march where i will return to the office.

I will be playing NL25z which i normally 2-table. So far i have played 4104 hands this month and my goal before the 30th is to play 10.000 hands more which would put my total of hands this month to 14104

I know this is a low number compared to a lot of the other blogs i enjoy to read, but it will be a challenging volume for me. I hope you will follow me this next 2 weeks, and i hope that you will likewise share your proces and results of your corona lockdown grind!

I could be interested aswell. I have played poker for a long time (but With long breaks) i have tracked my results since 2016 With 2016 and 2017 netting around 5k$ profit(from tournament). Havent played a lot in 2018 but I have a trip to Las Vegas in start october, so to get some rust off My Game i made a deposit at stars in the end of august, and have really enjoyed battling on nl25z(hit quite a heater too). Im probaly gonna Withdraw most of the roll before Vegas, but is looking to get back in the streets after and grind it up from nl25z

I know, i'm still an omaha donk.

My reasoning for the hand were;

PF: We have a pretty unique situation vs a player were we are +600BB deep. In my limited experience with the omaha games i would think he in the vast majority of times have some kind of AA in this spot. Why i choose to flat his 4-bet with a hand which can flop decent against AA and with the oppotunity to take down a big pot.

On the flop, following i still think he has AA most of the times i figure my hand is doing ok vs most AA, especially AAQJ type of hands. Turn can bring me nut straight, to pairs, and draws.

When i turn the nuts the hand plays it self, and the villian is extremely unlucky to hit what he does.

Am i totally off here?
