Yes, I submitted my email and am awaiting good news!

I really enjoyed the look of the FTP avatars and hope your site can deliver something of similar quality!

P.S. Thank you for taking time out to answer questions and queries, something that will distinguish your site regardless of software quality, rake etc is being transparent and open with your customer base and something sorely missed in the poker world in recent years!

April 13, 2018 | 11:26 p.m.

Would love to be a beta tester and can’t wait for the site to launch!

Purely aesthetically, will there be avatars to choose from to customise your account and if there are, will they be limited to characters a la Full Tilt or be a submitted image like Stars?

April 13, 2018 | 11:45 a.m.

Good luck Phil! The wait looks like it was well worth it!

Will video makers on RIO be like your version of 'Team Pro' and play on the site?
And when you mention cash games, which games and mixes will you be offering initially and at full launch?

April 12, 2018 | 8:16 p.m.

Great video! I really like your approach and explanations - very clear and concise!
Thanks!

Thanks for the comments guys! I did end up calling, due to lots of the reasons you've talked about, thinking this is the perfect bluffcatching hand -blocked diamonds. He showed up with 6574 with hearts. Thanks!

Thanks for the comments guys. I did shove in the end because I wasn't sure and was hopeful (maybe too optimistic) of getting called by a stubborn AAxxhh or 77xx and luckily got it through, don't want to play results though!

Hi Phil,

Nice video and it's great to see you feel uncertain about the overall player pool and listening you talk through your assumptions of them and how to exploit them is great for mine, and probably lots of lower stakes players' games. It gets you thinking 'what am I actually achieving by doing x, when most of the players down here are y way inclined?'

Also: looking at the 'soccer' betting and seeing the mighty Inverness CT (my hometown team) stealing some screen time is a bonus!

You are not forced to bet.

The only time you are forced to bet with the nuts (as far as I'm aware) is when the action is checked to you on the river. (This is definitely the case in the EPT tournaments, I've never seen it happen at a cash table, or at another tournament, as checking back the nuts on the river is obviously a really bad play.) Example at EPT Barcelona in 2012

Check raising the river with the nuts is certainly allowed and is a great strategy against many different styles of opponents.

Maybe it is a rule specific to that home game? (A pretty bizarre rule at that!)

Jan. 13, 2015 | 3:10 p.m.

Not sure I'm using my database and all the features too the full potential, so I was fiddling around with it and was trying to find all the villains against whom I've played the most hands/won the most against/lost the most against/the biggest winners in my hand histories.

Is there a way to do any (hopefully all!!) of these things?

Thanks for any response :)

A bit fit/fold on flops but he's quite sticky once he catches something decent and I've seen him call down really light, over 3 streets.
Kind of an 'in for a penny, in for a pound' kind of player when pots get huge, but he's quite decent and makes good bets and folds in small and medium sized pots.

Tough spot.

It's a shame that you block the straight and the nut clubs, making the only realistic hand he can call with is sets on the turn (and usually only top set).

If the 7,8 or 9 paired, I'd be more likely to x/f than when the Q pairs, but it's hard to see what he can be bluffing with. I'd expect JT to shove on turn/check back on river, even low flushes to check back on river.

6 handed, I'd probably fold (and see what he does against other players when he goes to showdown), but you say this guy is quite aggro and it's blind vs blind 3 handed so I'd probably sigh call and make a note of what he shows up with.

I really like your turn play against someone who bets when checked to :)

If you're new to PLO, this happens a lot, having the supernuts, hitting a bad card and being in a horrible spot, especially OOP :)

Thanks for the response :)
Agree with what you're saying, you think unknown would bet 3 times for value with 789T on a brick?
I don't think it's worth making a bluff catcher range at these stakes on this board vs a 3b but if I did, this hand would be one of the best.

This is a great hand to x/c with. There's only one hand that beats you, you can even beat some hands that he bets for value here. You block 0 clubs, making a flush draw more likely and you get to find out some info on your opponent.

If he checks back with a missed club draw with no SD value, make a note. Then in a future situation you can lay down marginal made hands when he bets the river because more than likely he won't be bluffing you.

Do you have any stats on villain?

Nov. 26, 2014 | 8:33 p.m.

I play on both and I find that equivalent games on FT are so much softer than Stars, less regulars and more weak players. The only problem is that games don't run.

If you want to start a game though, just sit and in my experience it only takes a few minutes for the game to fill up :)
