Just chiming in to say I'm very interested in playing on RIO, and really hope you end up pursuing a license in the end.

Cool, thanks for answering! Yeah all of those issues you brought up I experienced as well when trying to use OddsOracle for this hehe :)

Aug. 27, 2016 | 1:23 p.m.

I see that :P But what program did you use to generate them? (I'm assuming you didn't make them by hand since you've posted quite a few of them and that seems like a lot of work just to post on a forum)

Does not appear to be odds oracle, pokerjuice or omaha ranger. I understand if it's something custom you don't want to talk about, but it looks very useful so I'm curious (I was trying to get odds oracle to do this a couple of years ago but failed).

what program do you use to get these graphs?

Saw this tweeted and assumed you guys had known each other before RIO, but you actually met through the site?

That's awesome, congrats!

@29:30 I dont get why we aren't betting the second nuts here after everybody checked the turn already, the Khigh flush would have bet the turn most of the time surely.... And if we arent betting the second nuts then do we even bet anything or just c/r Kd and Kdd, c/c this hand?

A bit confused.

You're a big reason why I'm gonna keep my RIO subscription running (of course there are other good reasons as well :P), love your videos.

Having similar problems. Some videos work fine after a few refreshes, but some of them will just not advance past a certain part in the video (some exact point, like 3 min 5 sec just as an example).

I've always had this on RIO but it's significantly worse right now, to the point where I'm just not able to view some videos at all (as an example, I'm unable to watch this one: http://www.runitonce.com/pro-training/videos/playing-3-bet-pots-oop/ it just stops and restarts around the 3 min mark).

I don't get the check back with the AJJ4hh on 652hh... Doesn't seem like we'd get check raised almost ever (and if we do, we dont have to fold) and our hand does great on the flop but doesn't play well on most turns except flushes and a jack?

Jan. 15, 2015 | 1:36 a.m.

How big of a concern would you say rake is when it comes to defending this wide at 1/2 and 2/5? It seems like when the margins get this thin, rake might make some hands that are playable higher into folds (made up for in part by the opponents being worse of course, but most of us aren't Jeans89 ourselves either)?

Very good video either way.

Removing sets from his range because he didn't raise a 3 straight flop, doesnt seem to make too much sense to me.

Dec. 17, 2014 | 2:35 a.m.

Another thing about the QTT7 hand at the end... why would you bluff here? You're gonna win at a showdown a pretty reasonable amount of the time, or am I misjudging where in our range this hand falls? It doesn't feel like it falls far enough down to be a bluff...

June 5, 2014 | 7:45 a.m.

He can re-raise KK here too tho, with the same reasoning... which is another hand we can't have. I'm also in the camp of disliking that raise.

May 28, 2014 | 7:27 a.m.

35 min, KJhh8c7s on T59ccc you check behind and say "the hands we get to fold dont have many outs anyway"... but we have K high. A lot of what we are getting raised by either has us drawing dead or will bet bet turn river and we have to fold a lot.

Not necessarily disagreeing with the check behind (we have a club tho which helps betting a little), just unclear on the reasoning.

39 min.. what better hand are we folding out? Also surprised you played that pre-flop, you think it's standard? You've seemed pretty conservative in a lot of spots where you are OOP, so it suprised me a bit.

May 28, 2014 | 7:26 a.m.

29 min on the TT9r 7x Tx and you say "our bet should be big here unexploitably because we are repping very big"..... I thought because our range is very strong in this spot, we would want to bet small, because otherwise he can fold a lot of his range without it really being a mistake.

In addition, if we have like K high and want to fold out something liek a AQJ or A9xx or whatever, we dont need to bet big.

Could you elaborate a bit on why you think betting big here is correct?

May 28, 2014 | 7:19 a.m.

At 22~ min you play a hand where you raised QJJ9cchh utg, cb 236cc, c-c Kx and then raised a halfpot lead deep on Jx..... I'm confused about this.

We are capped to JJ, he can have 45 and KK and we absolutely cannot.... aren't we opening ourselves up to some really nasty situations, plus what do we get value from exactly? Not that many 33, 66,22 out there... so basically AA we hope he calls?

May 28, 2014 | 7:09 a.m.

I odnt know if you realized, still watching, but your hud seemed to half the time not be updating... Like sometimes you'd have an entire hand where it was showing the wrong players.

I like the content tho, you speak well, pause when there's an issue instead of using all your timebank (!!!) and you make interesting points.

May 28, 2014 | 7:01 a.m.

Seems like a terrible fold, especially after you cold called a 3bet, sorry to say.

Comment | TianYuan commented on 4b bluff profitable ?

Well, when I said "easily" I think I may have spoken a bit too soon lol... I have stuff setup that I can calculate the EV of a 4bet in a HU pot but adapting it for a multiway situation with varying stacksizes... not as easy as I thought it would be.

So many god damn variables, size of the calc in excel more than doubled and not even finished.

Feb. 26, 2014 | 3:21 p.m.

Dont think that's accurate unless you are very laggy (the 0.88). I think 0.7 to 0.8 is more likely). The Zoom 200 games are pretty tight.

But I guess he's a NL guy so I feel a little guilty for +1ing it :D

If his overall 3b is 10, why do you think its higher vs utg? Most people with 3b10 get there from btn vs co and blinds vs btn

Secondly, the ev of post flop fe is (roughly) quantifiable. Assuming they put us on aa we can easily figure out post flop ev by querying odds oracle on how often they have range vs perceived equity of x n flop, and what our equity is when they do.

Not at my computer at the moment tho.

Feb. 23, 2014 | 2:40 a.m.

Think 66% is a serious underestimation of how often people cbet this flop ~~ Not that it's all that relevant, just thought that was a bit of a low estimate.

Feb. 11, 2014 | 3:39 p.m.

Not that I dont do this myself, but I dont think 'never quitting when down' is all that healthy for your winrate. Of course it depends, but there is gonna be a threshold where you are tilted enough to be -EV.

Fixed that link for you:

His advice seems almost the complete opposite of what I've usually read... Not sure what to think. I do suffer from sick winners tilt tho (not in the sense that I start aggressively spewing, just I start feeling protective / possessive of my money).

Ah man........ I really didnt want PokerJuice to be this interesting. I dont have the energy to learn a new piece of software right now but it looks sooooo useful. PokerJuice should pay you a commission^^

Your posts are great, and I kind of sort of agree with Andreas above :D

Feb. 10, 2014 | 5:26 p.m.

Hehe, I imagine there's going to be a surprising amount of people in the poker community that fits this profile :D

Those questions are poorly suited to poker, ask them to a competitive individual of any discipline and substitute the word 'gambling' with whatever is appropriate, and I'm sure you'd get 7 yes:es too.

Like this one:
7. After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?

Hell yes, I fucking despise losing. It's the exact same with competitive gaming or MMA for me... if I have a series of bad sparring sessions there is nothing I want more than to get back in the gym and go again.

Or this:

2. Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?

Of course it has, just as my previous competitive pursuit caused me much unhappiness when I did poorly. Losing after you put in a lot of hard work to win is very aggravating.

5. Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?

This question is not applicable to a professional poker player, it's like asking 'did you ever work to get money to pay rent?'.

I think I can answer yes to 7 of these questions (definitely 6), and I'm for sure the least gamble:y person you'll ever meet... I find myself far more annoyed when I lose than I enjoy the rush of winning, I have 0 interest (and have never partaken in) any casino games, and I would describe myself as fairly risk averse. The only non-poker gambling activity I even find interesting is sports betting, and that's only because the idea of people beating it (and the methods they use, models and what not) is intriguing.
